EDIT16 provides 12,764 authority records for personal and collective names, including 25,736 author names either in preferred or variant form.

Authority records provide information about authors including short biographic data, bibliographic references, the form of names registered in bibliographic sources and those found in sixteenth-century editions.

The forms of names are given according to the Regole italiane di catalogazione per autori (RICA). Authority records follow the Guidelines for Authority Records and References (GARR).
